Q: Kia Optima ?
Does the 2008 Kia Optima look any different than the 2009 Kia Optima?

A: They basically look the same but there are a few changes. The 2009 is a few inches longer and has a slightly wider wheel base. The grill has changed a bit as well. They pretty much smotthed it out a little to make it look more like a sedan instead of a smaller foreign car. Either one wouldn't be bad to own.

Q: What do you think I can do to my 2007 Kia Optima?
I want to do something new to my car but I dont know what. Its a 2007Kia Optima. Its all in perfect condition and nothing needs to be replaced, so basically its brand new. Anybody have any ideas?

A: you drive a kia optima? wow.. quit life..but seriously i bet its grey or something so you should get your sucker boyfriend to get you a window tint and then you should make him over pay for some pink stickers at the la fair..thats just my opinion

Q: What is the max towing capacity of a 04 4cy Kia Optima LV?

A: look in your owners manual under the "towing" section

Q: Regarding a 04 kia Optima v6, is a torgue wrench needed when replacing a lower control arm in the rear?

A: Maybe a good mechanic will be needed to.

Q: I have a 2004 Kia Optima. There is snow, Ice Melt and washer fluid some how getting in to the heater blower.?
It is freezeing and causing the blower to sieze up thus blowing the fuse to the heater blower motor. Any ideas how it might be getting in and what I should check?

A: The washer fluid is probley coming off your windshield when you use it. If its under warranty I would have it repaired. My guess is that a seal or gasket is gone that prevents moisture and water to come in buy your heater. The grill outside below your windshield is my guess where it is coming in. Good luck, sometimes these can be very hard to find.

Q: I'm having the timing belt/ water pump fixed on my car. I was quoted 650(I have a 2004 kia Optima). Typical?
Also.. They said there is the possibility of internal damage. I have over 100,000 miles on my car. He said that since the car died before I started driving that the likelyhood of the car having damage is lower. What kind of damage could happen? Does internal damage happen often in cases like this? If so, how much more money am I looking at?

A: That sound like a typical charge for a timing belt change. I believe it's because of how difficult it is to get to in most cars. My husband was driving my Chevy Spectrum (Isuzu Imark) after we got a new car and neglected to have the timing belt checked at the recommended mileage. Needless to say since the car was 10 years old it was more to fix it ($4,000.00) then the car was worth ($1,000.00) so we scrapped it. It fried all the valves in the engine. I am glad that my current vehicle (Toyota Corolla) doesn't have a timing belt.

Q: Is the Kia Optima a reliable car?? Does anyone own one or know somebody that does own one??
Kia Optima--Reliable, Trouble Free????

A: When you ask if Kia Hyundai or saturn are reliable thats like asking if you should buy a fisher price toy to drive you to work

Q: kia optima alarm?
I drive a kia optima (03 or 02) and when I try to use the key in the lock on the door the alarm sounds when it unlocks the door. what can I do without disabling the alarm.

A: Try and pull the fuse. It may be connected to something else, but at least it will stop the alarm. What it may be, is the lock, when you unlock the door, it may use a plastic device that activates and deactivates the alarm. That's how the older sportages were anyways. It just wares out. It's just a pivioting piece of plastic. It might be in the shape of a diamond. It tends to ware out. It's just plastic vs. steel.

Q: where are the spark plugs on a 04 kia optima doc 16valve 4cylinder. cant find plugs, wires,or distibutor?

A: Take off the plastic cover that covers the engine bay, once you do that you will see them.

Q: Kia Optima Question?
I have a 2004 Kia Optima LX,I've been trying to customize some things with aftermarket parts,So far i've added a catback exhaust and an Intake,i've also started some neon work on the inside, but i've been looking everywhere online for some other things. Now,I understand that there aren't many parts for optimas, but maybe someone here knows where I can find some things or atleast knows what parts labeled to be for other cars will fit mine...I've been looking for a CUSTOM GRILLE,CARBON FIBER HOOD AND A SPEED GAUGE...so if anyone can help me by letting me know what aftermarket parts labeled for other cars [like hyundai-which is the sister car company] will fit my car,or a site that specializes in making aftermarket parts for Kia's would be greatly appreciated and would recieve 5 stars...thanks!

A: Hyundais in general and Kias specifically are very hard to find parts for. Usually, the R&D costs and tooling don't justify the number of parts they'll be able to sell. However, there are some exceptions. You're on the right track with exhaust and neon work, which is pretty much standard tubes and parts fitted to your car. Auto Meter gauges and aftermarket wheels will really make it stand out, as well as a big stereo system, all of which should be easily found for any car, even an Optima. For a custom grille, consider taking out the old, cutting the grill out from the frame and fitting wire mesh available at any import speed shop to make your own. I doubt you'll find a carbon fiber hood for the car, though. I don't know about the Optima specifically, but a lot of Hyundai's engines and transmissions are very similar to Mitsubishi equipment. Hyundais used to use Mitsubishi engines when they started years ago, and maybe you're still running a Mitsubishi-designed engine, in which case you have options for engine power parts. If not, NOS can be installed on just about anything with an internal combustion engine, just make sure you ask for help and do it right so you don't damage your engine.

Q: Kia optima headlights problem???
Hello! I have Kia Optima 2004 EX, everything works perfect except low beam headlights. They go down often. I've already changed my headlight bulbs 5 times, both sides. Does anyone know what might be a problem? Please help! thanks....

A: have you checked the plug on the back of the headlamps? and the steering column switch for them? Perhaps they are drawing too much current ie wrong wattage bulbs, esprecially because you said its only low beam, or your alternator is overcharging and causing them to blow... and like that guy said, dont touch the buld with bar hands, the metal part is ok, the oil from your skil will cause hotspots on the glass and lead to premature failure.

Q: Kia Optima 2004????????
Im getting a Kia optima 2004 for my first car. Im 16. Is this a nice car??? Is it good for a first vehicle? Tell me a little about it. :)

A: With regard to reliability, it is rather an average car; nonetheless, it is likely far better than a typical General Motors vehicle. Consumer Reports accords the Kia Optima a Reliability Verdict of Average. AutoOnInfo.net's Reliability Percentranks pretty much confirm this. The Kia brand has a Composite Reliability Average of +.04, better than any GM brand. For reference, the best 5 by the CRA are: Scion: +.83 Lexus: +.82 Toyota: +.79 Honda: +.79 Acura: +.70 and the five worst are: Pontiac: -.44 Jeep: -.47 Saturn: -.53 Cadillac: -.54 Land Rover: -1.00.
